 [ABSTRACT]

Chungcheongbuk-do was one of the areas where high concentrations of particulate matter occurred frequently due to stagnant air flow caused by the basin topography. The annual average concentration has been greatly improved by Chungbuk-do's vigorous efforts to reduce the amount of particulate matter generated. However, it is pointed out as a problem that although the concentration of particulate matter has decreased according to figures, the actual feeling of improvement of particulate matter among residents has not improved significantly. It is necessary to prepare practical strategies to increase the residents' experience of fine dust improvement, such as 1) measures to reduce exposure to fine dust in daily life, 2) measures to increase the effectiveness of fine dust control measures and projects, and 3) fine dust control projects that attract new attention.

The purpose of this project is to explore projects that can be tried to reduce particulate matter based on the opinions of various experts.

This project consisted of 1) using wind paths and forests to reduce particulate matter, 2) strategies to reduce particulate matter from mobile sources, 3) strategies to reduce particulate matter from the manufacturing and energy sectors, 4) strategies to reduce particulate matter from biological combustion, 5) strategies to reduce particulate matter based on science and technology, and 6) institutional foundations, regional issues and environmental education.

The results of this project will contribute to improving residents' perceptions of particulate matter, ensuring safe breathing, and minimizing the health effects of particulate matter in Chungbuk-do.
