 [ABSTRACT]

Compared to the importance of climate change adaptation, current climate change adaptation policies and projects tend to be perceived as one of many sub-projects as a component of carbon neutrality policies.

As climate change adaptation is a matter of survival, long-term visions and goals based on future climate scenarios and detailed implementation plans should be developed and promoted, taking into account the hazards, vulnerabilities and risk characteristics of local governments.

There is a need to identify rapidly changing climate change adaptation policy trends and emerging concepts both domestically and internationally, and to explore how they can be incorporated into climate change policies and projects in practice.

The purpose of this assignment is to answer the question: Adapting to climate change, but how? and how to do it. Chapter 2 reviews the concept of adaptation, vulnerability and risk assessment, and the socio-economic implications of adaptation. Chapter 3 examines changes in the core content of the IPCC, changes in adaptation policies promoted by developed countries and organisations abroad, and emerging issues, and draws implications. Chapter 4 examined climate change scenarios and analysed changes in climate factors, extreme climate indices and climate change impacts in Chungbuk based on the climate crisis scenario (SSP 8.5). Chapter 5 explored ways to improve adaptation to climate change under the themes of 1) improving methods for assessing climate change vulnerability and vulnerable areas, 2) strengthening support for people vulnerable to climate change: governance, 3) improving local government climate change response manuals: heat wave, and 4) responding to climate change considering urban resilience.

Through this project, we aimed to contribute to the establishment of effective and tangible climate change adaptation policies by reviewing various key national and international policies. issues surrounding climate change adaptation and seeking ways to incorporate them into reality.
